If you allow your actions to be dictated by society´s ruthless demands for efficiency and productivity, demands which you yourself may have internalised, then you risk becoming more prone to experiencing unrelenting stress - and eventually a total burnout.
To counteract this tendency you will need to slow down to a pace that enables you to listen to your heart and to your body, that is to say, to focus on the inner world of emotions and physical sensations, and to adjust your actions in a way that reflects, responds to, and integrates their wisdom. This is what in Biodanza we refer to as affective-motor integration and sensory-motor integration.
Replacing the addiction to stress with healthier habits calls for a radical change of lifestyle involving a commitment to balancing action-and-rest and to generating a felt-sense of joy, ease, peace and harmony in the present moment.
Beware of expecting this process to result in quick or monumental changes. A more realistic approach would be to embrace a slow and steady movement towards health which would give you the necessary time to integrate meaningful changes.
