The search for the self, which Jung referred to as the process of individuation, is an adventure that lasts a lifetime. Human existence unfolds through dilemmas and enigmas, which unravel the wisdom of life. The journey through the labyrinth represents the inner journey of humanity in search for its identity.
When we feel disoriented, without knowing our destiny, we try to find a way out which appears to save us. We take a decision. Usually, the less risky and most reasonable.
Few of us allow ourselves to be guided by our deepest affinities, our intuition and coherence with life. Challenging our existential fears (fear of being replaced, fear of the supernatural, of death, etc.) constitutes a concrete heroic action that reveals a certain level of maturity.
The image of the labyrinth is a metaphor for our lives filled with doubts and its unknown paths.
The Minotaur is a beastly image that possesses both the power of our primal instincts and the innocence of nature. We encounter this threatening creature when we connect with our instincts and with the wildness of our inner world.
Instead of denying it or killing it, the Minotaur Project creates the conditions we need to meet our own Minotaur, and to integrate its vital energy and understand its beauty.
Uncertainty seems to be the main characteristic of the journey through the existential labyrinth. How best can we walk through life? How can we choose the right path? Is there such a thing as a right path? Is it possible to optimise our journey through life?
The key to the labyrinth is deeply imprinted in each one of us as a divine gift. It is only when we muster the courage to be faithful to this luminous inner gift that we will know, moment by moment, which direction to look and move towards.
